Die MPA Fellowships für Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden werden ausschließlich auf Grundlage der wissenschaftlichen Exzellenz der Bewerberinnen und Bewerber vergeben. Die ausgewählten Fellows erhalten einen Forschungsvertrag sowie individuelle Reise- und Forschungsförderung.
A PhD position in lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) is available in Dr. Simon Kuberski’s group at the Institute for Nuclear Physics at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. The position is embedded in the Mainz lattice QCD activities within the PRISMA++ Cluster of Excellence and the Mainz Physics Academy (MPA).
The research will focus on lattice QCD studies of heavy-flavor physics, in particular precision computations of observables relevant for B-meson phenomenology.
The position is funded for three years and will be remunerated according to the German public sector salary scale TV-L E13 (75%).
The project involves numerical simulations and data analysis in lattice QCD, contributions to the development and optimization of analysis and simulation codes, and work on high-performance computing systems. The successful candidate will also participate in the scientific activities of the Mainz lattice group and present results at conferences and workshops.
The expected starting date is in summer/autumn 2026.
